The chair has brakes which when applied, prevent the chair from moving. This is particularly helpful when a person is transferring onto the chair, especially from a wheelchair. Designed for emergency situations such as a fire or a lift not operating in multi-storey buildings. Can be operated by 1-4 people. The passenger is strapped into the chair. Telescopic handles at the front of the chair allow for others to help.
